We do not override the machines
A discretionary override is an untested strategy with a sample size of one. No exception has been granted to date.
The firms that fail rarely fail for want of ideas. They fail because conviction outruns containment. A hand on the throttle at the worst moment is the oldest story in this industry.
Each strategy receives an explicit allocation of loss it is permitted to spend — by day, by month, by position. When it is spent, the strategy stands down. No committee convenes.
There are things this firm will not do. Overriding the machines by hand is one of them.
